Attractions and Destinations

There are unlimited opportunities for you and your guests to experience.  Within walking distance of the Hilton City Center are the Shops at Grand Avenue which is a large shopping mall featuring national stores as well as those which are uniquely Wisconsin.

The Milwaukee River is a few short blocks from the hotel.  The riverwalk is alive with restaurants and shops where you can enjoy the late season boaters.  The Milwaukee Public Market  which opened last summer, mirrors the famous Pike’s Market in Seattle.  Vendors offer freshly made items including bakery, seafood, cheese, candies and much more.

The Public Market is in the heart of the historic Third Ward   which is an old warehouse district transformed into luxury loft condominiums, unique shops and restaurants along the riverwalk which hugs the Milwaukee River as it meets the harbor.

Old World Third Street is home to Usinger’s Famous Sausage Company and the Spice House as well as other uniquely German businesses.

Milwaukee’s lakefront is a must-see opportunity.  The lakefront is home to Summerfest which is one of the largest outdoor concerts in the world.  The lakefront is also home to the Milwaukee Art Museum, Pier Wisconsin and the War Memorial Center.

The National Trust for Historic Preservation, the country's largest private, nonprofit preservation organization, today named Milwaukee to its 2006 list of America’s Dozen Distinctive Destinations, an annual list of unique and lovingly preserved communities in the United States. It was selected from 93 destinations in 39 states that were nominated by individuals, preservation organizations and local communities.

Potawatomi Bingo and Casino operates a 14 person shuttle bus between six downtown hotels, including the Hilton that runs on the hour from 5 pm to midnight.  There are several restaurants at the casino including a buffet.
