NCSSMA SOARING TO NEW HEIGHTS Welcome to Albuquerque As hosts of NCSSMA’s 34th Annual Meeting, we are pleased to welcome you to Albuquerque. The Sheraton Old Town is located in the heart of Albuquerque’s historical district. It is a unique blend of Native American, Mexican, Spanish and Western cultural traditions. This location offers guests a wonderful experience in discovering over 400 years of history in the area where Albuquerque began. Adjacent to the hotel is Albuquerque’s Old Town-featuring over 200 shops, restaurants and art galleries and San Felipe de Neri Church, which is one of the oldest churches in the country and still in use. A short walk from the Sheraton Old Town is the Albuquerque Museum, the New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Planetarium, the Explora Science Center and the National Atomic Museum. Easily accessible to Interstate 40, the Sheraton Old Town is also within an easy drive from downtown Albuquerque and many other fine attractions such as the Albuquerque Bio Park, Aquarium, Botanical Gardens and Nature Center. You will enjoy your stay at the Sheraton Old Town located at 800 Rio Grande Blvd., Albuquerque NM. The room rate is $65.00 for a single and $109.00 for a double. These rates are good from Sunday, November 2nd through Friday, November 7th, 2003. Parking is free for people staying at the hotel and attendees at the conference. The hotel has a nice fitness center and gift shop. Contact the hotel at 1-800-237-2133 by October 2nd to make your room reservations and mention that you are a part of the National Council of Social Security Management Associations. Albuquerque International Airport is located
approximately 4 miles southeast of the city. We have contracted with Southwest
Airlines to be the official airline for the meeting. The average temperature in early November is 60 degrees with lows in the 40s. Attire for outside tours is casual with good walking shoes. Bring a sweater or jacket. If there is anything the Host Committee or I can do to make your stay in Albuquerque more enjoyable, please let us know. We look forward to seeing you at the conference.
